A contractor in the Flowerdale district already and he has treated the following roadsides for Regionally Controlled weeds (including blackberry).
Moores Rd
Messmate Rd
Spring Valley Rd
Old Spring valley Rd
Collins Rd
Kenny's Rd
Margetts Rd
Upper King Parrot Creek Rd
Yea Spur Rd
He has been using Brush off and pulse and due to this mixture you may
not see any die back immediately, but more so in a few months. They are
doing spot spray of the weeds and are taking care not to destroy native
vegetation. My contractors are covering the road verge but are not
responsible for roadside maintenance of drains/curbs/channels that run
alongside the road. This spray program is organised and implemented by
the Assets and Infrastructure department within Shire.
Any queries please give me a call on 57720702 or 0408 021 164.

Adopt-a-Container Scheme
There have been reports that some people who received a shipping container through the Adopt-a-Container scheme have been approached with offers of free removal (and return to base) of the container. This is not correct.
If you are approached with this offer it would be very helpful if you could obtain some contact details and either let Peter Montgomery know, or call EACH reception on 9871 1800.
Those who have shipping containers arranged through the Adopt-a-Container scheme will be contacted (if not already) by members of the Yarra Glen Community Fire Relief/Adopt-a-Container group to either arrange for the return of the container or for you to arrange the purchase of it.
The cost to return the shipping container is expected to be around $200.
If you have questions/queries re. the shipping containers return or purchase, please contact Peter Montgomery on 0418 566 928.
Please pass this information on to anyone you know who has a shipping container under this scheme.

MSC Australia Day Nominations
Is there someone who deserves an acknowledgement for their outstanding contribution to the community (adult or young person)? Now is your opportunity to nominate them for an Australia Day award!
Is there an event that you think needs recognition for its valuable contribution that it made to the local community?
Or alternately, are there people in your networks that you can encourage to complete a nomination form?
The award categories are:
Murrindindi Citizen of the Year
Murrindindi Youth Citizen of the Year
Murrindindi Community Event of the Year
I have attached a nomination form (with criteria and eligibility), and they are also available on our website, the libraries and the Rebuilding Advisory Centers.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate in contacting me.
Thank you for your time,
