Peter Auty met with a delegation of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association from the U.K. at the Flowerdale Villlage on Monday 14th.
The delegation were interested the effects of the bushfires on communities which suffered from the fires. Peter and the delegation discussed Flowerdale's needs and the ways the community had set up organisational structures to satisfy those needs and gain outcomes requested by the community.
Although the visit was only short, the discussion was wide-ranging, open and stimulating. Members of the delegation said that they had gained some important insights into problems and solutions, and would take away a determination to assist in any way possible. It is hoped that the outcomes of the meeting may provide some assistance to any other communities affected by natural disasters.
